Panasonic has released a new firmware update for DMP-BD80 Bluray player. The new update called BD80P V2.67 and enhance the performance of Panasonic DMP-BD80 bluray player . During the firmware update procedure, do not turn the Panasonic Blu-ray Player off nor disconnect AC power. You can update the software by connecting the unit directly to the software update server. Before updating the software in your player, remove any disc and USB device from the player.
That said, the firmware that powers your Smart Blu-ray player should be updated from time to time to enhance your experience.
If you have a Blu-ray player, and a new form of copy protection introduced, (or your player’s “key” has been revoked) a new disc may not play on it.
Parts of the disc may load, but then parts that utilize the updated copy protection will fail.
With DVD, the copy protection scheme was compromised shortly after release.
This let people rip bit-perfect copies of their DVD discs and distribute them online.
